Wild birdsnest

I know that most wild "caught" SPS corals can be somewhat difficult to maintain in a captured environment.

My LFS just got in a very nice birdsnest colony (wild). I'm tempted to buy it, but I'd like to know if others have experience with wild "caught" birdsnests. Are they as difficult to maintain as many of the other Acros and Montis ?

There's a lot of factors involved, but in general wild colonies tolerate less variablity and do better in well established tanks.
Here's apic of my wild birdsnest 8 months old.

thats a very nice one gasman, yes they are less excepting if their wild. hopefully your system is well established and pristine, then i would say go for it, hope this help's...

most of the time they are more difficult coming from pristine water conditions.....just be sure your tank is stable enough with good flow generally you should be fine if they are healthy
