Wild caught 8 legged starfish!

Hey all. I have a 300 gallon tank and am heading back to SC from Florida right now. I caught this 8 legged starfish and some sort of conch and was wondering if it could go in my 300 gallon once quarantine was over. Is this possible? I have a 10 gallon tank it will sit in on the way home. This is running with a filter and sand collected from the ocean. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!!

I would post pictures and maybe some info on your tank. Some starfish and conchs are no good for corals.

I'm really not trying to be an *** or tying to get anybody in trouble but I thought you couldn't catch anything from the ocean and bring it home to your aquarium. Or am I just wrong about this?

In southwest Florida you can bring 20 invertebrates home, and only 5 species of each if you have a fishing license. I am good on both.

Have mainly SPS, but all are frags right now. Have an anemone, gsp, xenia, and Toadstool mushroom. Lighting is 4 Evergrow d120's. Sandbed is 4 inches deep. 8 foot long tank. Huge skimmer as well.

Quarantine for what? The fighting conch will be fine in your display, but I doubt you'll have any success keeping the starfish and sand dollar alive. That starfish is also predatory and will likely eat other crustaceans. Looks like you grabbed some rock too which is illegal. You can always identify beach rock by the way it's weathered.

Yea, already returned the Starfish to the ocean actually. Rocks are only in there for filtration until we leave and I'll return them back to the ocean. Don't worry I know the rules. Conch and macroalgae are doing great.
