Really a shame the extent to which tank bred clowns have taken over. IMO, any respectable LFS should at least offer their patrons the option, even if at a premium.

The real shame is that tank bred clowns (and other fish) are of such poor quality. In order to be an environmentally friendly option they need to be of equal quality to wild ones (minus the diseases wild often com with).
But what I see in stores is really just feeder fish quality (though they are not even good for that since they also come with a host of diseases)

Wild ocellaris should be readily available on wholesalers lists. Just ask your LFS to order a few.

Solomon Island/Papua New Guinea region sometimes to have more black than other percula clowns, some qualifying as onyx clowns.
Wild clowns typically look better than tank raised, but if you can't tell the difference, it's not worth paying more for a wild pair. It's actually really hard to raise a tank raised clown that looks exactly like its wild counterpart. The size of a clown is determined by many factors, but generally not if they are wild or tank raised.
If you're looking for a particular color morph (more black, less black, etc.) it's probably best to wait until Live Aquaria has some in their Divers Den so you can see what they look like prior to purchasing them.

LA has been selling Solomon true percs lately? As stated by D-Nak Solomon clowns can be darker than others. As far as Singapore clowns, they will look closer to the stock picture on their website.

There are no true percula in or around Singapore. The ones they sell usually come - if wild - from Indonesia (Papua and maybe Irian Jaya). Those would be the same as PNG percula.
The other option would be that they may be captive bred in Indonesia.
Solomon percula are for sure wild. Since they are primarily collected from shallow waters out of giganteas, they usually have a decent amount of black. Though the real onyx (the two in my avatar are wild Solomon onyx percula) are rare these days and picked out quickly.
The wild Picasso percula come primarily from PNG and to a much lesser degree from the Solomons.
If you want Solomon percula give Blue Zoo a shot - that's the only wild kind they have. Also, try small ones - percula develop their black rather late, so with small ones it is less likely that the good ones are all picked out.

Lol the mention of Singapore Perculas had me scratching my head for a bit. I'm from there and dived those waters for many years. Never seen a Percula.
