They usually have patches where they are being eaten, but if it's going on for a while, the whole coral could be infested.
Also, if you raise them up to high PAR too quickly, they can stay pale for many months. In this case, I would drop it low as they can usually survive in lowish PAR. Although they tend to go brown, the tips eventually colour up when they are happy. At that stage, you can move higher.

I dipped it in Bayer today.It been in the same spot for quite a while, 5 months or so, I could try placing down on the sand bed, it's on the lower rock work now.Thought they liked high light and flow. Kept it low , because it always looked pale after it went from brown to green, to pale.

They can be kept high or low, but to get them high up, you need to do it quite slowly.
They pale out very quickly and die, unless you acclimate them well. That is why most keep them low. I have had them on the sand bed for months with good growth and coloration… My sand bed is at 250 PAR. I have 600-750 up top.

That pic you posted is my coral. That was under 400w Reeflux 12k. at mid level of the tank. At the time my nutrients were way too low, so that's why you see the light tan on top.
I got it wild also.........this was when it was about 5" in diameter and about 6" from the top under 400w halides. It was sitting off center under a Lumenarc reflector.

It had AEFW about 6 years ago and I would see it sliming from underneath trapping bubbles. The top color never changed.
