Wild Onyx Clownfish. Take 3

Out of curiosity, why do they lose their color in a bubble tip or other type of nem?
Thanks

Why is precisely a difficult question and somewhat of a mystery to me. I just know that it happens. One person here strongly believes that color loss or gain is due to diet but to me that's not good enough argument based on evidence (diving and snorkeling videos on YouTube, photos of clowns in the wild) of black true Percula clowns being found in Gigantea anemones.

All's good with the clowns

Today is the 1 year anniversary of the clowns in my care. They still spawn on a regular basis. Below is a picture of them from today and of their 7 month old offsprings from yesterday.

Very good grandfather.

Glad you have documented it here and the other thread on your journey, and included us with you!

Hey bud, thanks. Probably a smaller Crispa or small Haddoni. Definitely no Mag or BTA because I would hate for them to lose their black colors and turn orange. LOL
How are your blue and tan/purple gigs doing?

Can you elaborate or point me in the direction of some applicable reading. Do light anemones lighten clowns' color and darks darken? Same with torch corals?
