Wild vs ORA?

I am looking at buying a yellow assessor and have a choice of a tank raised Ora fish which is probably small at about 40$ or a wild one which would be bigger at around 65-70$ which do you think I should get?

The small one will become bigger. :)

It is also responsible to be aquacultured when available.

Assessors are cool fish.

support captive breeding and get the ORA fish, I personally believe captive breeding efforts are the only way our hobby will survive for many generations to come.

I have had both, my first one was a wild caught and just did not acclimate to captivity right and died on me. My ORA one I have had since 2009 and has been awesome. I just added another ORA one and they are both great fish. I would highly recommend the ORA fish.

Go captive breed all the time, the fish acclimate much better, usually has less chances for parasites and other diseases, and in my experience they seem a bit less aggressive than wild caught fish. Also we need to support the captive breed industry so they can expand their efforts to try to raise more types of fish for us to choose over wild caught fish. I would be willing to pay more for a captive raise fish and we as hobbyist should be asking our fish stores to clearly support this approach. Over time , I can see many locations being restricted from catching wild caught fish for our industry. We need to support captive breed /raised industry to hopefully have them fund more reseach on how to expand the efforts to different types of fish similiar to what is happening with buying live coral.
