Will a 9002 Nano work in a sump?

I am building a 10g sump for my 20g reef. I have a pretty small compartment for a skimmer so I was looking at the 9002 Nano. I have heard that if the water level changes the skimmer won't work very well. Does this mean it wouldn't be able to handle being placed in a sump?

It should work fine but you will need to build your sump so it has a partition that the water is dammed up to a 8" level. The flow rate should not be too high either to eliminate excess turbulence. If you set it up with a sealed partition like this, the water level will be constant and always at the right level. You just need to silicon in a plate of glass.
