Will a simple inverter work?

I'm looking at getting a inverter and a deep cycle battery to run a tunze 6010 kit during power outages and possibly a small heater. Will a standard inverter work? I saw there's one called a pure sine inverter that cost about 4X the cost of a standard inverter but claim to produce cleaner power.

I just saw an old thready where you said that a normal inverter may cause problems with a Tunze stream. Depending on what your position is on them now I may just use 2 of my spare Maxijet 900's with a cheap inverter and not risk screwing up my $340 6010 kit. Do you think the maxi's will run safe on a standard inverter? Thanks for the help, just trying to protect my investment.

It is not a problem so much with the electronic models. i.e. 6000 and 6100. Hz don't matter so much for these models within reason. I assume the Hz is just a bit sloppy between say 55 and 65 Hz and so that will not make any problems.

Thanks I'll go for the regular inverter on the Tunze 6010, if it blows it I'm keeping this thread for evidence :) merry christmas

The only concern i would have with the electronic models is the 6100 and 6200 because they are near the limits of what the driver can handle and when you have higher HZ and convert it to DC it equals more power, that is why a US 6100 is 19V but a European one is 20V. The Hz make a difference but on the 6000 it would have to be way off to harm the pump. The 6100 within reason should be ok.
