The "foot" of an anemone is soft. Very soft. There is not structure to it at all. If you have any kind of skeletal structure the you are dealing with a coral. Not an anemone.
Yes, the base is hard. So my LFS sold me a duncan coral for an anemone ... wow. i chose these guys for their rating on yelp.com. that sucks.
thank you everyone for helping me out!
So my question still ... what do i use to fix them to the rock?

Super glue gel will affix them to rock. I recommend using a small rock to attach them to then you can adjust position in the tank depending on light needs.
Might come out rude but.. if you cant tell the difference between a duncan and an anenome when purchasing..you might not have experience enough for one
This is actually good. He got something from his LFS, they lied to him and told him a coral was an anemone, and now he knows he can find another LFS and tell them to get ****ed...
sorry to hear this. pretty ridiculous. was there a photo posted in this thread that i'm not seeing. want to see how obvious this was for a LFS owner to mix up.
I actually use a mix - I put marine putty in between superglue gel (top and bottom), so when I apply it to a rock, the putty while form around the rock area to make a snug fit, but the superglue gel is what actually holds it in place till the putty hardens.
