will my onyx color ever come back!?

I've had my pair of true percs for about 10 months I'd say..

Got them when the female was an inch, maybe tad more.. the male was .75" and dominance was decided within minutes of seeing each other.. They are happy in their 2 RBTA's BUT..

when I first purchased them, they both had a very dark black onyx coloration, the female is still getting darker by the day and she is at about 2.75" now, male is only 1.5" at best but he lost all his black coloration and looks like a plain true perc..

Has this ever happened to anyone before where the onyx coloration completely dissapeared? Possible that it will ever come back? I started with an onyx PAIR and now it looks like I have 1 female onyx and 1 regular true perc.. will post pics later..

very nice clowns you got yourself there... doesn't explain why 1 of my clowns gets darker and darker, but the male gets lighter and lighter?.. I wish I could get rid of my rbta's, however I would never trust a carpet in my tank.. and my clowns need an anemone to host in..

Clowns do not need a nem to host. My are happy with frogspawn, xeina and power filters.
