Will the wavebox work on my tank?

Well, my new tank is up and running and I am still looking at my final plans for flow. I would like to incorporate a wavebox along with a couple of streams. I have one question though:

The tank is 10ft long 2 ft wide and 30"deep. It has two external overflows on opposite ends (on the 2 ft short ends)

Will one wavebox be sufficient to give me a nice wave
and will I have problems with noise with the end overflows?

Noise may be a problem but Durso pipes should solve that. What is the volume of that tank?

Volume of the tank is around 380 gallons. I have a 35 gallon refugium and a 100 gallon sump

Do you think I could get by with one wavebox or will I need two?

If I do need two is there any way I could get by with one for awhile?

Not sure my wife would let me out of the dog house for some time if I bought both at once.

With one the wave will be a bit short, maybe 3/4", you would need one and an extension to really get a good effect.

Thanks for the information. I have alot of flow in the tank now (about 10x) so I think I will try one first.

If I hooked up two waveboxes and got the full effect would it be necessary to have any additional flow in the tank?

I would think since it is moving the entire water column that nothing else would be necessary. The reason I ask this is because I have seen many people have the waveboxes set up and two to 4 streams.

Yes, you generally need more than the waveboxes. The flow from a wavebox has no direction to it so the detirtus just lifts and suspends and a current is needed to sweep it away to the filters and overflow boxes.
