Will this be a good T5 fixture?

Yes..just place it high enough so saltwater don't splash on it and it will last longer

My tank is 20" deep. What inverts should I be researching that I would be able to have with this light? Zoas. LPS, SPS, Clams? I'll probably need to change the bulbs too right?

Depends on the bulbs u put in there..Atm I'm running a hydrofarm t5 8 bulb until I get radion 3super blues 2 purple 1 pink and 2 white and I have spa ops softs starfish shrimps ext..only thing I haven't truer is a clam but if I can grow spa I'm sure I can grow a clam

you are going to need new bulbs.those won't grow corals
