Will this controller work?

Until I can upgrade my Apex, I just need a controller to turn my halides off if the temperature rises too high.

Do you see any problems with this device?: Temperature Contorller

I have less then five amps of lighting, so it looks appropriate? Thoughts.

Thanks

I don't see why not, i've seen folks use these on plenty on MH and Heaters also... Nice pick up if you do it

watch out if it toggles the mh on and off too quickly. but i think most ballast have built in protection for that.

What kind of Apex do you have?! Don't all Apex have a temp probe and controllable outlets?! I'm so confused...

My apex does have those options, but the actual apex itself is over 50 feet away from display MH ballasts. I want to have something right at the display. Evantually, I will get a PM1 and EB8 at the display to manage it, but just don't want to drop the $200+ right now.

I'm curious why it is over 50ft away from the display tank?

I thought I read somewhere that they have a maximum length on something of 100ft. Like you could only run 100ft total of the usb or something.

I have two displays that run off of one sump system. The actual apex base is at the sump, as most of the equipment on the apex is managed there. This display happens to be the one further away.
