Will this work?

I am going this weekend to a store pick up a BTA and two maroon clowns. They do not have pairs but I was going to buy small and larger clown and then the BTA. Do you think I have a very good chance of the two clowns staying together and also them going into the anemone?

Thanks,
Ken

According to many posts in this forum, Maroons are supposed to be very difficult to pair. If they're not compatible one usually ends up dead. However, my LFS does it all the time. . .

Your greatest chance of success will be with 2 clowns of widely disparate sizes.

:D

I'm mopt sure if I want to take the chance. If I was, I would have done as you said (big wiyth small).

I have 2 maroons and a bubble tip.

i think your chances of the maroons going in the nem are 100%
seriously :)

Its theyre host nem in the wild, and maroons are supposed to be the most dependent on nems. (my female hosted in less than 6 minutes)

when i added the juvi later on, I put the juvi in a specimin container as close to her and the nem, the female beat up the container but couldent reach the baby. when baby did get out, she beat him up baddly, but within 48 hours he was welcomed into her nem. (whitch he was risking his life for lol)

buying both on one day might make things easier since the female wont be defending a spot yet.

but get the tinyest lil thing you can, and a big one. doesent have to be a 6 inch monster or anything, but at least 2-2 1/2 times bigger

took me 6 months to find one this small. (thats a tiny 50watt heater)

Agree w/tourkid.
Make sure the small one is like an inch big or less.
Many people just buy one big and one small, but could have 2 that are already females.
