winding noise from dry side

As I only own one VT, I have nothing to compare to but I wonder if my noise is normal.

at any speed, the dry side make a sound like a metallic bearing, winding, or something. On pulse is sounds like zzzing, zzzzing, zzzing....yes I feel stupid writing that. It is a little irritating. My tank is uber quiet so I can hear this VT above other things.


At high speeds the wet side hums against the glass. not great, but doesnt sound abnormal.

There will be a bit of a whirr sound from the motor which is normal. Doube check your alignment and also the pin spacer for proper setting and make sure no pins were bent when installed. If you feel the noise is still abnormal or overbearing send it in and I can get any problem corrected.
