with media for CR??

Schuran doesn't make a media, I don't believe, but it's a type of media. it's the large chunk media, versus gravel looking media.

I've heard it's better because you can lower the pH more without the media melting (going down to something like 5.5 versus 6.0 or so with regular grain sized media (I don't know for sure the pH values, that's just an example).

Stumbled across this thread in search of a good media for a Ca reactor.

I see that Schuran and ARM are both listed.

Of those that have used either,

Have you tested your effluent for PO4 and measured it against your tank water to see if the media is leaching PO4?

I have done this with Korallin Natural CaCO3 Media and it is horrible at leaching PO4. To the point that I took my reactor offline and am soaking the media in RO/DI water to see if I can pull the PO4 out of it.

I'm just trying to figure out if soaking is going to be a way of life (which I already do with carbon) or if there is a media out there that doesn't leach PO4 off the shelf.
