My Sps 29 gal has been with out power for 10 hrs and don't know when it's going to be back on. Any help or what should I expect

I just went through the same thing due to irene. You probably can't get a generator now so here's what you do. Go to walmart home depot or lowes and get a big deep cycle marine battery and a power inverter. The inverter makes the battery able to to supply power to an outlet on the inverter. Just plug a power head into the outlet and keep water moving on the surface of the tank to supply oxygen to the fish and coral. If the battery dies hook it up to a car and jump.start it to recharge it. This should work for a while. Otherwise just manually stir the water as much as you can to keep the surface agitated

Man... That sucks :(... I'm in Houston, TX and we are very fortunate to not get any hurricane, yet...

A power generator is a must have just in case. I need to get one. :)

I bought some battery operated air pumps. Those may help for future uses. Very cheap too.

Just went through the same. Power out for 28 hours. My vortech lasted for 24. I had two connected at a high speed. I went to walmart and picked up a fish airator and a power inverter to recharge my battery pack. Power came back and everything was fine. I will be better prepared for the next hurricane.

I was without power for over 40 hours. I used a power inverter running off the auxiliary plug in my truck. Ran two 6045 for an hour on and an hour off. Thus far have not loss a coral or fish. Now we'll see when I get home later today. Sadly the prop on my 6105 broke just before the storm hit or otherwise I would have run the 6105 off battery. I, too, will be better prepared.
