Zoas are still Softies right? Why do they charge like Gold? When this thing get out of hand? I don't remember seeing Zoas 10 yrs ago, that was when I bailed out coz of family reason (I became a husband and a dad).

Please shed some light wdh is going on??? Are these Zoas engineered???? It just doesn't make any sense!!!!!!!

I love this hobby but c'mon why make it a business????

Starts as supply and demand. New color morph found, and no one has it yet. That topped with some melt easily. Look to your local clubs. We trade and sell high end zoas around my parts for decent prices. You can also just buy what you used to have back then for cheap still, like eagle eyes, dragon eyes, etc. That way you can ignore the hype.

yup, that pretty much sums it up. comes down to "supply & damand"

Doggie, don't try and follow the latest trend, just buy or trade for what YOU think looks good.
You don't have to spend a lot.
cheers!

I think part of it is done people want the latest and greatest, while others think they can make cash growing out/selling these "rare" morphs. That said, the hip, New thing often becomes no big deal after a couple of years. For me, I stick with things like eagle eyes, AOGs, radioactive Dragon eyes, etc. because I like their looks and get more enjoyment spending 100+ on a nice dinner than a polyp.

Ha, yea I like that last article about DSLR. I have to admit, first starting off in the hobby only this year, I spent a lot of time looking on the forums, admiring all the pictures. Then paid a visit to my LFS to set up my tank and checked out some of the corals, mainly to see some cool zoas that I liked seeing pictures of so much.
:eek2: They were so small! I am glad I saw some in person, and didn't just drop a few hundred bucks online. I'd have been even more surprised.

same thing with clown fish they could not sell the morphs so they name them ask a lot for them, and there just junk.not seen in the wild.
don't buy them and the price will come down supply & demand
i am a big fan of the $5 frag tanks at the lfs..and i never ask for the name of them.
