im pretty heavy into the internet. ive moderated some pretty rough forums. i thought id pass along some knowledge that alot of the unsavy intenet folks need to know.
1. you are not and will never be anonymous, ever, regardless of whatever antivirus/spyware software you have, period.
2. anything and everything you put on the internet can be viewed by people with below adverage education.
3. you shouldnt post pictures on the internet of yourself,friends or family, ever. people steal these pics and put them on their paysites. never post pictures of your kids.
4. there certain unwritten rules on forums-
A."never feed the trolls"-this means if some one with a post count of 1 asks why his tang is killing his other fish in his 25g tank, dont even respond. when you get ****ed at them they get their kicks.
B."nothing is sacred"-mods can and will read your PMs without question. mods know when you change usernames also.
C. "personal info is just that, personal"-you take a huge risk even PMing your addy or phone # to anyone,even your mom (people can and do read your PMs).
D. " take everything with a grain of salt"- people say things online that they would NEVER say face to face, dont let anything get under your skin or ruin your day.
