Withered PE stalk

I just picked up this frag from my lfs and when I got it home I noticed one of the stalks of a people eater is withered. The polyp just sort of flops over sideways as the stalk can't seem to hold it up. It is trying to open, as you can see in the second picture. Any idea what would cause this? Will it recover? Should I remove this polyp...all the others seem fine.

Also is the one on the right a Stardust PE?

Thanks for the help.

IMO, it looks like it got pinched by something a bit in transit? I'd put it somewhere with moderate water flow and pray... maybe do a SW iodine dip to help the tissue, is another personal favorite... I hope it gets better!

By the way, if you edit the post and hit the img button before and after the pic links, the pics will show up themselves in your picture.

Have a great day

I've had the stalks look like that before, its usually on the really big polyps like moon polyps or grandis. Mine have always been fine once they adjust and expand.

Thanks guys,

I did a freshwater and Lugal's dip when I got them.

It's already looking better after 24hrs in the tank. Stalk seems to have filled back out to almost normal and the polyp opened. Not quite fully open but enough to give me hope that this guy will make it.
