WLan and ATT Uverse Help

Ok, so I have a pretty understanding on how networks operate, and how to setup devices etc.

However, I cant seem to get my WLan to work with my stupid uverse gateway.

Unlike standard linksys routers it does not appear to give me the option of setting up a static IP address, that will allow me to connect my Profilux.

It appears that i might not be able to hook my unit to the net at all with my ISP.

Has anyone run into this, or have any suggestions?

Uverse can ony function with this "gateway" so changing hardware isnt going to work.
