WLAN Card question

I am looking at a profilux unit for the tank. I was wondering if the WLAN card is a special card only made for the unit or will a regular computer WLAN card work? I happen to have one from a previous computer setup and was wondering about this before I ordered. I think it is a Linksys card.
Thanks

Hiya

the WLan card is specific for the ProfiLux it sits inside the unit as a module designed only for the profiLux.

Hope this helps

Thanks that does help.

Also, is the level fixing kit the same as the water level sensor bar assembly? I can not find the level fixing kit listed separtely on the cherry corals website. What is the purpose of the 2 water float sensors? I know one would control the water in my sump and I would use that sensor to control my litermeter. What is the other sensor for?

Thanks for the help.

While talking about the level kits, how would you use the 3rd level sensor as a leak detector? That's something I'm interested but not sure how to go about doing it. Thanks.

I have one more question. Has there been any thought on making different pacakages than the ones you already have? For example, a package with redox, temp and ph ports already installed. I am having a hard time finding a package to fit my need without getting other things I really am not interested in monitoring like salinity. I am looking to have a unit with ph control x 2 ( tank and calcium reactor co2 injection), temp, redox, tunze stream control x 2, MH control and wireless access. I know I will have to buy some of these modules as add ons, but I was looking for some help on what might be the best package to go with. I missed out on the starter package and that looks like it might have been the best package option. Ant direction would be helpful.
Thanks

Hiya

Very topical, as right this minute i am working on more packages.

You also do not have to be stuck with the pre made packages that your retailer can supply you, all our retailers are very good at building personal package that suits your exact requirements making sure you only get what you need.

From what you have outlined, our new exclusive package will work for you, this comes with the ProfiLux EX, so has redox and salinity already on board, it also has an additional pH port (2nd pH probe is seprerate at the current package lay out)

We can make this package available to your retailer right now if this is what fits the bill for you.

Here is the package list

Profilux Plus IIEx
High AMP power bar for high load lighting
Digital Pwr Bar
GHL pH Probe
GHL temp probe
Salinity probe
Redox probe
PLM opto (optical level sensor)
PLM Floater (float level sensor)
Tunze 1
Tunze2
YL2-1 (1-10V splitter for Tunze pumps etc)
PL-LY (level sensor splitter)
PLM S8 (level sensor holder)
PLM S12 (level sensor holder)
PLMCali pH4
PLMCali pH7
PLMCali pH9
PLMCali220Mv
PLMCali50Ms
RS232
PLM-WLan
PLM-pH (2nd ph port)
PLM-Base (for level fastening)

I am glad I asked the question. I did not know the dealers could build personal packages. I thaought we were locked into the packages and then had to buy any extra we wanted.

This package sounds good. The only thing in that package that I was not after would be the salinity probe and measurement and float sensors. I already have a float sensor for my litermeter. But for a good price, I would probably do this package. The only other options I could think of would be the fan control and fan.

Thank you so much for your help.

Hiya

As distributors we made sure our retailers could give 100% flexibility to their clients needs.

I think in your case it would be wise speaking to your nearest retailer and asking them to put a price together for what you require.

You can purchase just the items you require no problem at all, or even if you prefer slowly build the kit up as you learn what each function does, thats another option also.

Our retailers will work with you no problems at all

Let us know if we can help further

I was in the process of downloading what the paperwork included with the WLAN card said was required and got a warning about Redirector not passing testing on Windows XP. States it may cause the system to be unstable either now or in the future. Has anyone else received that message and installed without issue?

If it is a windows message its just the usual windows red flag because they have not certified the software themselves.

Ignore and carry on.

You can use the Redirector software but you need not to!
ProfiLuxControl (beginning from version 3.04) is able to connect directly to an IP-address - the Redirector is not necessary.

Is there a way to release the price on the exclusive or executive package we had talked about to my retailer, Cherry Corals? I am not sure the name of the package as it has been called one thing in this post and another by Cherry Corals. I am trying to compare prices on this package vs a package we came up with to get the best bang for my money.
Thanks

The new ProfiLux Exclusive WLAN will MRSP at around $1,849 (dependant on Euro buy in rate on shipment)

This is the biggest kit we have done up until now. The WLAN original pack was so popular we felt it wise to expand on that further.

Release date as with all the new kits is April 2nd, but this kit can be accomodated earlier dependant on dealer stock holding

This kit includes

Profilux Plus II Ex
High AMP
Digital Pwr Bar
GHL pH Probe
GHL temp probe
Salinity probe
Redox probe
PLM opto
PLM Floater
Tunze 1
Tunze2
YL2-1
PL-LY
PLM S8
PLM S12
PLMCali pH4
PLMCali pH7
PLMCali pH9
PLMCali220Mv
PLMCali50Ms
RS232
PLM-WLan
PLM-pH (additional ph port, probe sold seperate)
PLM-Base

Thats a lot of kit for your money, but also what so many now are asking for.

Is something missing from this kit? I only see the High Amp and extra PH port in this kit compared to the regular EX Plus WLAN. I'm sure I'm just overlooking it.

No thing is missing, except a small price typo which i have now adjusted. We originally added another part to the kit but took it out again but forgot to adjust the price

A high AMP and an extra pH port has been added from the Plus WLAN kit.

The new kit price is based on April retail prices estimate on what the Euro will do against the USD. This may change closer to the time

If purchased however before April, the MRSP is $1799

Hope that clears up confusion

We are still fine tweaking these new kits and will release them officially on the 2nd April with correct and valid pricing, the above kit may still get tweaked further.

In fact we would appreciate by email suggestions.

Thanks. That makes sense then. :D

If we just purchased the EX Plus WLAN package a week of so ago, is there anything that can be worked out to help us get to this package at similar savings? ;)
