Women Reefers show me what you got.

Well they aren't pretty, but it's hard to aquascape the way you want when you have 2 lil ones (a 1 yr old and a 2 1/2 yrs old) clinging to your pant legs or getting into other things. Also hard to add all the fish and corals you'd like when hubby (sole income earner) is on WC.

First is my 75g which has been set up since May 7th '06 and the second is my 55g which has been set up since March '06. The 2 tanks might get combined into one shortly (the 75g) to save on costs.

Beautiful tanks ladys. And Angel, I love your choice of colors in fish and also the uncrammed look of your tank.
I wish more would do that and give the fish swimming room:)
Everyones tanks are gorgeous, we rivel the mine I think.

Thanks everyone for the compliments. Your tanks look great too! I've been pestering hubby about setting up a 29g as a seahorse tank but I think it's going to have to wait until I have more free time and our finance improve too.

Thanks, nemo :D Most of it is freestanding & does not lean against the back so they can swim all the way around.

I need to thank you for your website. I was having some anemone trouble and went there & read every little thing --very helpful and informative on BTA's.. -I bought a new "greenless" rose that is doing great, largely because of your feeding recommendations - I had no idea they could eat so much

Hi Marie, thats terrific, glad my site has helped. If you have any questions feel free to send me an E.
Good for you on your rock not leaning on the back glass, my 125 is the same way so that they can swim around the back of them and keep them cleaned up, I also have two Seios pointing in the back and down to keep the stuff stirred up so that it gets to the filter. Much easier to keep it clean and I can run the glass cleaner all the way to the bottom of the tank in the back.
I dont like coraline algae, its pretty but so hard to clean around so I just keep it off the glass in all of my tanks.
I love the disbars and when I get another large tank it is all I will have in the way of fish.
And some yellow gobies and mandrins.
The disbars are the most beautiful of all of the sw fish I think and I wish I had found them before I stocked my tanks.
But that is a great reason for getting another tank don't ya think?:)

I have just one seio in the back...hmm another one might be a good idea.

I don't let anything grow on the back glass either, when it's perfectly clean it makes such a nice contrast with the rocks.

I forgot to mention how impressive your seahorse tank is. I've got a 30g algae tank going, but I'm too lazy to take proper care of it - better not put any horses in ;)

Yes I do!! I love my dispars, they are so cute & probably my favorite anthias for overall beauty, disposition and staying small. But I must show off this beauty. The hot pink on her belly is not as intense in person, BTW. otherwise the color is pretty accurate - I love this fish.

Angel, where did you get your Anthias? I see Reefer madness has them.
I am overstocked on livestock at the moment and would need another tank for them.
When the new addition is built onto the house I would love another 125 and have it just for them.
They are beautiful, any more pictures of them?

Thanks! Looks like the new 125 will be a necessity! Wish I was "retired" like you - I barely have time for my algae tank & my 100g. I have bought all my fish at LFS's.

I checked Reeer madness - it's nice the way they separate the sexes.

What have you got on your seahorse tank - the lush algae growth is beautiful!! Do you dose iron? Skim? Etc.???

Ummmm.... well sort of one more....since you asked ;) - actually I'm posting it to show accurate color on the Cooper's - the pectoral fins are hot pink, but not the tummy

Angel, happy you like my seahorse tank, I have feather caulerpa in it and also some grape algae, I also bought the pretty green plant growing on the rock, forgot the name of it, from reefermadness, one morning I got up and it was eaten down to the rock. So I raised it up on a piece of 2" tubing to keep whatever it was from getting to it and it has grown back now.
I don't dose anything in any of my tanks, I find I don't need to.
I feed the tank Coral Vibrance once a week and that feeds all of the filter feeders in all of the tanks. I feed mysis and cyclopeze every day also,
I have never checked my tanks water. I have had SW over 8 years now and never once ran water tests but today at Goodwill I found a brand new SW test kit unopened so grabbed it up for 4 bucks.
Will be fun to see just what my water is but it may scare me to. LOL.
I have tanks that are all natural and they seem to do just fine without worrying about the water so I will just use it for fun.
I might panic if I do test them, lol.

Missed a few questions, no I dont skim the Sh tank, I run an aquaclear 300 on the seahorse tank and have a small fountain pump in it to move a bit of the water, basically it is a still tank, not much water movement at all.
I have a 96w coralife fixture on the tank, one actinic and one sun , both need replacing but I am not to worried about it as everything is growing fine for now.
I keep rock rubble piled in the corners and front so that the pods can grow undisturbed by the horses and mandrins and the tank is also full of different worms and bristleworms.
The glass is covered in pods and bugs when I turn the lights on in the morning and I had a bit of a problem with flatworms so I bought a pair of mandrins, they have cleaned them out and I no longer have the problem.
I also have to clams in the tank. They are funny little things that move around a lot, they are like the electric clams only not electric, beautiful pink color and mosty hide out but some days they come scooting out and around the tank. I have some pictures of them if you are interested in seeing them.
Basically I find that the less you mess with the tanks the better, dont pull to much algae out, dont put your hands in the tank and just do the natural thing and all is well.
I run no sumps or fuges on any of my tanks but went back to skimming my 125 and 75 when I had a terrible algae outbreak when I experimented by taking the skimmers off.
