Women Reefers show me what you got.

I have done all of the hard but rewarding work on my tank, my husband is too jelous of the tank. He says I baby my tank more than I baby him. ( I kinda have too, lots of water changes due to not having a skimmer)

My tank has been up since the first of October and I think it is doing really well, even though I have pushed the limits of what I can or can't have in this new of a tank.

(Please forgive the pic quality, I am using a camera phone for now. Hopefully I will have a digital camera by the end of the month)

Ya, it gets a little crazy around here but I have always loved SW tanks. I didn't quite realize what I was getting myself into with this hobby but I wouldn't give it up for anything. I am also planning a 300g in-wall system that will be a predator only tank and the 72g I have now will be a reef only. (gotta have somewhere for the trigger to go after he outgrows the current tank :D)

Wow saltess.... that really sucks. You had a very nice set up before...... hopefully you'll be able to bounce back and get things back to the way they were. I take it you have to scrap all your corals and shrooms eh? Either way i like you rock setup now.... looks like a good base for another reef. Good luck.

I'm just getting into it (only been two weeks), took my a few years to take the plunge. I have something to look forward too!!
I was a biochem major in college, with a wildlife management minor.
Gorgeous tanks ladies, so thrilled to cyber meet other women in the hobby. I've met one at a LFS, she's nice. Some of the guys at the LFS's I've talked to treat me like I'm a complete idiot, really ****es me off. But then again it took me years to a meet a guy that wasn't threaten by the fact, I am more literal and mechanical thinking then he is!

yeah,pitt_prodigy, we had to move out of the house and in with my mom for about 10 weeks. Really sucked. But I do like my rock work better this time. I did try to save some corals and my anemone, but they just didnt make it. Most I have had for 6 years at least. The tomato clown did make it though. She is a survivor!!

Here's a pic of my tank. I moved my 2-year-old 90 into this 125 in December 2005. The livestock is still adjusting to the new set-up and I tried to leave plenty of grow-out room for the corals. It's still not "just right" but I have to wait for the rbta's to stop wandering before I can finalize things.

And this tank is ALL MINE. Hubby's interest in the tank is limited to how much time it takes for me to do it and does it interrupt his plans, LOL! Well, he did put the RO unit in for me and helped to hang the lights, but the rest is my planning.

Edited after I see the pic doesn't seem to show much. I'll try to get some better pics when the lights come on.

catdoc, beautiful stand. I really like it! Putting tile around the tank away from the hardwood is a smart move. Tina

I agree with the tile around the tank stand. I did the same thing.

The room where I wanted my tank is carpeted (and just to throw the guys for a loop here...) I did all of the custom tile myself!

Wow what great tanks! My husband doesn't help either...well, he did call the plumber to install my RO system :D

I had lost track of this thread ... thanks for the compliment, Biggie :)
One of the things I noticed is that the ladies have a lot of caves & swim thrus. My tank also does, but you can't see them in the photos. My tank is also split into 3 separate free standing bommies, but the photo doesn't show that either.

Oh well here are some more :D

My husband doesn't do anyhting with the tank but he does get excited when he finds somehting new on the liverock. He likes to try and pick out the fish too, but i have to keep explaning why i can't put a "dori" or a lion fish in my 10 gal................ahhhh men lol

Well here is my tank, i just got my new lights and i have one fish a blue damsel for now. I'm waiting on some parts so i can hook up my sump/refugium to the tank then i'll work on the other cool stuff :D
