Wood for DIY stand

I am thinking of rebuilding the stand for my 50 gallon.

I am visioning something similar to the Elos style stands, but with a contrasting door finish. I want to paint the main cabinet a smooth, semi gloss white.

I kind of like this wood pattern and weathered grey look of this stand and would like to copy cat for my doors:

Any suggestions on how to achieve this effect?
