I have this one colony of candycanes that has some sort of "tubeworm" killing some of the polyps. It is forming this white leathery tube in the branches and over the polyps which is causing some necrosis of the tissue. I have not seen the critter yet just it's tube and the damage. I do not think the worm is eating tissue but it's structure it is building is doing the damage.
Here is a picture of the candy canes before they have fully expanded so you can see the leathery tube.
Has anyone witnessed this before?
