OK I have settled on some items.
Lets see your opinions:
1)
Overflow on back of tank 48" wide made out of acrylic. Coupled to an external drain box. Currently going with 1.5" drains and head height to allow over 5000 gph if everything was running wide open.
2)
Looking at a CaRx designed for about 500 gallons and use dosser pump for other supplements.
3)
Thinking of a way, still, to make both tanks one body of water. I was thinking of a 24/7 water change, between the tanks at X lph or lpd (still thinking) Even something like a stenner pump where the pump would run a dual head and be a controlled amount.
4)
If sea swirl is used, setup main return pumps to go to SeaSwirl in corner(s) of tank. I have seen the pro and con with them and seen more pros and longevity of devices.
OK so ... looking for ideas and comments.
My to do list is getting longer. Anyone want to distract me this weekend so I do not have to get started with it?

I have a pair of seaswirls on the same sized tank and I love them. I can't speak for their longevity, as I've only had them for a few months.

What purpose are you using the uv for? Do you think 50w is enough for your water volume?
Currently I have 375ish in water volume. I will soon be adding a 265 and sump(s) to support it. 50w is listed for about 400g. I do not have anything bad in the water (that I know of), but I wanted to be able to move it between the two setups and let it run perodically. I will setup a dedicated line with pump to cycle water through it at a medium speed.
