Worried about new Magnificent Foxface

My Foxface arrived UPD from DD well this morning. Since has been acting strange. When I first added him to the QT he froze and remainder there for a time the swam around normal for a little then out of the blue raised his spines, darkened, and froze. I though that maybe something was wrong with the QT so I used entirely different equipment and fresh premade salt water matching the temp and salinity then move him. Did the same thing and now he is just frozen inside a PVC, dark, spines fully extended just sitting there. Is this Norma behavior for a Foxface. I had a one spot years ago and I know they get really freaked out but where he is now is pretty peaceful. You think he is just freaked from the transport?
He looks very healthy, fat, and not small.

My magnificent does this still when frightened. I've had him for 7 months. They like to go into camo mode when they sleep, or when they are trying to hide. Whenever I put my hands in the tank, he goes to his hiding spot. If someone goes up to the tank to quickly he will hide and freeze for several minutes. I wouldn't be too concerned as long as he is eating. Mine eats like a pig, has from day 1, keeps up with the tangs in that department! My magnificent is absolutely one of my favorite fish! Very peaceful, swims around a lot during the day, even picks at the rocks for any algae. The camo mode is very cool, pretty darn effective as well! Good luck with him!

My one spot which I've had for 8 months does the same thing when he's frightened.

FoxFace panic so easily. It is normal. It will take time for them to adjust to their new home. My FoxFace is 6" and still panic once in a while.

Totally normal. Mine did that in QT too. Still does it after over a year in the DT. Once he gets comfortable it will happen less frequently and for a shorter duration.
