Would a percula or ocellaris host on a frogspawn?

It depends on your clownfish. Some will and others won't. But if your clown does exhibit that 'instinct", there is a good chance it will be hosted by the frogspawn. It will come down to your individual clowns and frogspawn.

wow so in my bio cube all i have is the standard coralife actinic and 10k power compact flor. lights. Will my tank be able to have a frogspawn in it without upgrading the lights? Also, do they host in them right away and all the time?

hey gary, do you live near ithaca? I may be going to college at Cornell next year, and I was wondering if there are in fish stores in ithaca. I would love to take my tank with me!!

excited, eh?

there's more to keeping a coral (such as frogspawn) healthy than lighting alone. (You need to learn how to maintain proper water conditions.) I would strongly suggest trying to keep a frogspawn coral healthy and growing before introducing any clownfish.
A healthy environment for frogspawn will help to ensure that it won't be stressed to death by any clownfish. (The same could be said regarding anemones).

congrats.
Ithaca is gorgeous and Cornell is known all over the world- I suppose some might say I live near it.
There are reefkeepers in our club that attend Cornell. Make sure to check out the URS (Upstate Reef Society) Forum here on RC.
