Would love a anemone

Hello RC,

New to this forum. I have a big question to ask here in this thread. I really want a anemone. Any small one that doesn't move a lot. My local buddy has told me I should be fine with one under my current set up. 22 gallon long(40LX10.5WX12H) 20 gallon sump(completely filled its 20 gallons) with refugium with chateo and a growing community of pods. Tank is 12 inches high with a orbit marine 36-48inch led fixture. All parameters are perfect. All softies and lps love the setup and are growing at a very fast rate. Whats everyone opinion on this subject. Will I be able to get a rose bulb or any anemone that will host clown fish? Is my tank to small for one? I have lots of non aggressive corals on my rock and would hope the anemone will stay on the sand bed. Do they move around a lot? Sorry for all the questions I just don't want to purchase something that will knock out my whole tank after all the hard work I have put into it. Thanks in advanced

It's recommended that your tank is at least 1 year old to get an anemone. pros can get away with less time. your tank is big enough.

BTA require rocks, not sandbed. they like to stick their foot into rock crevices. so find some bumpy rocks and pile it.

I'm not too familiar with your lights.

BTA will move. you will need to keep moving your corals until the BTA settles. anything it touch may die..

The only issue with your setup i would be worried about are your lights, they are actually on the weak side but if your willing to upgrade fast if nessasary then you could try a bta, they are one of the easiest of hosting anemone's imo but they also move the most, but if your tank is stable and the anemone is happy they dont move much at all. Just keep an eye on it for bleaching and upgrade the lights asap.

Yeah I've been running my tank for 7 months. New to corals but they seem to be doing great. Thinking I'll hold off till I have a little more experience. Thanks for all the info.
