Would this be a good idea as a quarentine tank?

Well, since there is a petco so close to me, that has cheap fish, I think I may start like a 5 gallon tank with a piece of liverock, some type of filter, heater, etc, and put in a cleaner shrimp. This way, I can buy from petco and hopefully cure all the diseases their livestock may have.

I don't recommend keeping shrimp in a QT tank. You may have to use meds like copper, that could kill the shrimp.

The 5 gallon would work fine for you. Just make sure you keep an eye on evaporation, in a tank that small your salinity levels would get high quick.

Is it an all in one type thing, I think they have some called Mini-Bow, comes with hood, lights and tank. Would make a good QT for fish and softies.
