Would this plumbing setup not work?

I don't have a weir/overflow and planned to setup my plumbing this way. Would it not work? I have the strainers pointed up so there is surf skim capabilities. Would this not work?

Will it work, probably, will it be quiet... really hard to say. But my best guess is no.
