Wow, an all-in-one water testing system - 10 parameters 24/7

Some of the FB groups have been discussing this. It looks interesting and would be great to be able to monitor all those parameters. The price isnt too bad when you consider what it is supposed to do, and the new tech involved in producing their results. Id like to let a few others be testers before I adapt though.

There's a pretty good thread on this in the controller forum on that other site; RHF contributes.

MACNA will be an interesting show.

It looks pretty promising and I like how it is continually monitoring those parameters. It will definitely help in keeping things more stable allowing you to take corrective action more quickly. They need to have it work with your apex to get text messages when things get out of your zone.

But understand a patent doesn't mean they've actually built anything, nor imply it will happen.

Now that would be sweet. I just hope their patent doesn't keep others from doing something similar in the future.
To have a system like this would really help this industry as a whole for those who can afford it. But then again, after you loose a few hundred dollars (or thousands like some of us) in coral, from not keeping parameters in check, this is a no brainier once tried and tested.

You wouldn't want a non-consistent, important parameter testing apparatus tied into the dosing scheme of a controller program ...

Even if this was possible.

The likelihood of getting an inaccurate reading, during some point in its usage, which would then drastically change the chemical composition of the water, is too elevated to be trusted with such an integral application.

Which, that type of lazy reefer practice may be why some are losing thousands of dollars in coral, unfortunately ... If it's not worth putting time and effort into, it's maybe best not worth doing. Period

Patience. Time. Hard work. Meticulous testing & subsequent dosing. Methodical vs. impulsive ... These are some of the few ESSENTIAL personal characteristics of being a successful, and more importantly RESPONSIBLE, reefkeeper ... Especially during tough times of elevated environmental stressors, on the natural environment you "buy" most of your corals from.

It's a shame some individuals disregard and disrespect this, for their own personal comforts, just because they can afford to buy another replacement if it shall die from their own easily avoided mistakes and/or blatant disregard for proper techniques ... Ruins it for those who are dedicated, responsible aquarists and it's one of the exact, pertinent reasons why there are now government sanctions against our wonderful, but morally corrupted in many cases, hobby ... I'll never understand some people
