exactly my thoughts! Also I get great ideas looking at some of the best smaller tanks! Although my tank isn't quite Nano(40 Breeder). Its much more realistic for me to get ideas from Nano guys. Then TOTM where most of the tanks are 200 Gallons +...

I think it should be brought back. Nanos tanks arent going to have near the ability to compete with RC's tank of the month. It's just unfair to compare the 2. I mean Ive seen some really nice nano's but its not a 500 gallon system with $100k invested.

I voted yes but I remember how much work it was just for the nTOTY contest even though I didn't do much other than ask each owner prior to the contest if he or she wanted to participate and started the poll.

As a recap:

The majority of members voting in the polls want:

1. nTOTM to continue
2. nTOTM eligibility to require 50 posts, and 90 days of membership
3. nTOTM eligibility to include a minimum age requirement and information beyond just a few pics (though such might be provided post-award)
4. Monthly nTOTM contests, with no minimum number of entries
5. nTOTMs judging criteria to be the same as TOTM's criteria
6. nTOTM to remain judged by members alone (vs. Premium members, or other RC roles/positions)
7. An nTOTM voting option to allow a negative vote for the entire set of entries in a given month
8. Nomination of other people's tanks be used as a method to submit nTOTM entries, alongside the existing method of self-nomination

It is worth noting that almost without exception, the majorities were very significant majorities. The polls are closed now, and stand as a record of that.

IF this was brought back from the dead those few details would need to be finalized prior to the first monthly contest. With all the holidays coming up work and school schedules and family stuff would make it difficult to start the contest now.

If the contest started in January 30, 2013 then the winner's write up would have to be published in Feb. while the next contest ran.
