No other way to put it.... :( Stupidsreef's tank Not much left :( Rich1972 tank has lost a lot. I lost my nano, but so far on my big tank I have not lost much.. All I'm able to do is run a SEIO 1500 for a couple of hrs at a time, off my power inverter. All three of us are still out of power...

Well hope everyone else's power is up and running, and wish you all the best.....

Can anyone get a hold of Lonnie? I have Clarks generator sitting here I just need to get an ok from him that it would be ok. I left a message on his home phone to call me.

Not much really!! We just have to wait it out at this point. They said Tuesday at the lastest the power will be back on.

Actually his pm asked me if I knew anyone else who needs it so give me a call if you want to come get it Lon. 444-6362303783-4444 without the first and last set of 4's.

I will get back to you on that tomorrow.. I have a ton of things going on tonight and cannot make it out there. I will give you a shout tomorrow if things don't look any better right now my 240 seems to be doing okay now that I have the SIEO going Fish our swimming better. Thank goodness

One question I have is does anyone know how long a Car Battery will last with an inverter only pulling 60 watts. So Far I know I can go 3hrs with out the battery going dead.

Marbles or someone can probably do the math on it. I know there are cold cranking amps then a regular amp rating then the math for watts to amps etc. From personal experience I went a few hours on the truck w/o starting it and then when I went to start it to let the alternator run for a while it didn't seem to be any different than normal starting/cranking speed. That was running a 200 watt converter on it pretty well using the whole 200.

Oh, and if you push an airline in the back of the seio in that air intake it will increase the oxygen w/o having to use an airstone. The tank will think it's a little bit of a churning storm going on at low tide.

Lon, if you can use the generator, use it. You can run quite a bit of stuff off of it.

The only thing to keep in mind is if you are using it when there are lots of people still out, make sure you chain it up. They have been known to disappear.

Roy, if he doesnt need it I will be home most of the day tomorrow so you can drop it off anytime

That is why I'm a little Nerves of using someone else gen.

Still no power. But so far all fish and shrimp are still alive, I have lost a few SPS's But everything else seems to be doing better than expected.

Last Night I hooked up my SIEO 820 and it didn't kill my battery and ran through the night....

Update:
Rich1972 lost all of his inverts and just a couple corals. We are going to do a water change on it tonight.

Stupidsreef tank :( I think he lost everything Very Sad. What is his best option to do with the tank? Pull everything dead out do a Huge water change and let it cycle again?

Probably should pull anything that is def. dead but if any question about it leave it alone. Get through this and evaluate afterwards. A water change wouldn't hurt. A simple maxi jet with an airline attached to the nozzle adapter so it sucks in bubbles and sprays them all over the tank can do wonders to keep the oxygen and have flow from it. But watch for the cycle starting and if you see the amm rise much get anything else out. Do you know how hot the tanks got? That's probably more likely to be a cause of needing to recycle.

I am so very sorry about your loss. I wish you guy would have PM'd me. I would have gladly housed you livestock untill your power came back on. If there is ANYTHING that I could do to help just let me know. I can make up so RO water, bring ice, whatever you all need. just ask.
I believe that is one of the reason we formed a club. To help each other out in times of need. At least that is one of the reasons I joined this club. Ask, So many, are more than ready, and willing to help.

Rich's tank only got to 85 so that is fine it usually stays right at 82 any way. I'm not sure about Mike's (Stupidsreef) I would not guess that much hotters than Rich's. My water is at 75° because it is in the basement.

I'm sure the amm in Mikes tank is way up there. That stuff that we can find is dead and in the back of the tank were you would have move most of the rock in the tank to get to.. With no Lights and just Flashlight that makes it a little rough..

Pewter_jean thanks.. We will let you know if there is anything you can do..

Does anyone know any specials on salt? IO, or CL... Need to start my move to the new house since everything is so messed up.

Lon, let me know if you need me to hold anything for you or someone else. Also, I've got a battery charger for a boat so if/when your battery dies I could recharge it for you. I'm letting my dad borrow my two boat batteries one at a time. He uses one while I charge the other. It seems to be working pretty well.

Lon,
Let me know if there is anything I can do to help you as well. I am at 270 and 367 so not to far from you. As far as salt specials I believe that Mairine solutions still has 200 gallon mix of Instant Ocean for $35, but I would call and check first.

Clark,
Thank you very much for letting me use your generator. Shoot me an email on what time will be best tomorrow. I will be dropping my wife off at work tomorrow morning so I will be right near your office then, are I can come out at lunch. shoot me an email or a call to let me know what works best for you.

Sean

How many Amps are the boat batteries? And how long does it last? I was also wondering if you could hook up 2 batteries and hook up a battery charger to the converter and keep the battery charging the same time you are using it. So the battery would keep running all the time.

Anybody have any thoughts on that?

I'm only pulling about 60 watts off the SIEO 820 and it went 8 hrs last night with out killing my wife's battery in her car, it is 540 cranking amps

I just talk to the power company and they are saying with in the next 2-4 hrs my power will be back up.. Cant wait.

I was able to hook up a Gen for about 2 hours.. All Inverts, Fish, Zoo's, ric's, Shrooms, and most the LPS look like they are going to make it.. But the SPS not so good, the flesh is falling off them :(

I'm not sure how many amps off the top of my head, should be a little better than the average car battery. My dad has been running 2 pumps and I think they are lasting about 12 hours.

I have power!!!!

Awesome! sorry man it sucks when everyone you know who has a generator is using theirs. Those who had power didn't want to lend them out incase the lost it again. Are you getting one now when you can find some cash?
