Hello all,
Had a question in regards to behavior I am hoping someone can assist with.
I introduced a Lineatus wrasse from QT to my DT. A few weeks later I introduced some Bartlett's to my DT from QT. They have been in there for a few days now.
My concern is I am seeing some aggression, namely from the Lineatus wrasse, it is never reciprocated. The aggression essentially amounts to chasing, but he even dove under a rock into the sand bed to chase one of the anthia out of the area he sleeps. The aggression is not constantly, it is sporadic and usually short lived. He will chase one and then a few minutes later be swimming right around all 3 of them with no issue.
I've tried rearranging the rock structure a bit to no avail. I don't think the aggression is bad enough to warrant removing anyone, I see no physical signs of harm, just the chasing. Is this something that will ware off as they get more used to one another or could I possibly just have an aggressive wrasse?
My concern is in that I am looking to add a second wrasse (not fairy - which should be fine) but am concerned if my Lineatus is displaying this aggression to anthias, he might be more aggressive toward another wrasse. In which case I will forego the second wrasse.
Any thoughts or suggestions on the matter are appreciated.
Other inhabitants include 2 ocellaris clowns, 1 kauderns cardinal, 1 male spotted mandarin, 1 diamond goby, 1 tailspot blenny so there is plenty of space...
