In Scott W. Michael's Marine Fishes, he says to feed Anthias at least 4 times a day and to feed Wrasses at least 3 times a day. Is this really true? I'm not sure I can feed my fish that much per day. Wouldn't it polute the tank? Thanks.
I have multiple wrasse's (Solar, Pink Margin, Carpentar) and 6 Lytretail Anthias and usually feed twice a day. However sometime I can only feed once and they seen to be fat and happy
Split the amount you feed up [smaller portions] into multiple times in the day = multiple feedings, no nutrient issues
IME, it seems like I can feed my tank more often with smaller portions [even if it ends up being `more food' by a bit] without any real nutrient issues. My homemade food I freeze in thin sheets so I can just take off a little piece in the morning, feed ... when I want to look at the tank I feed just a little amount.
It never turns to be a huge amount, but is enjoyable and seems to have done well with my Sunburst anthias.
Just be sure to keep export up, don't slack on the skimmer cleaning/etc. It can creep up on you ...
