The first one definitely looks like a hogfish to me too. Maybe Bodianus opercularis.

If you compare the pics of his fish and of the peppermint hogfish, you'll notice that his fish lacks the white bar marking right where the tail starts, where his is located only at the end. Maybe a juvi?
It also sort of looks like a coris from it's body shape, especially the second pic. Whatever it is, nice find! :)

I did notice that and Im hoping its not a juvie coris of some kind. It does have some red/orange under its jaw going towards its belly if that helps with the id. It doesnt look like the larger peppermint hogfish Ive seen in person but its very close to some pics of the bodianus opercularis.

Thanks everyone for the comments and confirmation on the flame fairy.

Keep the ideas coming...

it is a coris. C. flavovittata juvenile stage to be exact. from hawaii, gets really big...about 20" according to fishbase

Thats it!, came in from hawaii. Yeah the head wasnt as elongated as a peppermint hogfishes. I guess he's ok for now. Do coris get mean or are they just a pain flipping frags over and eating stuff? Ive never had one.

Thanks!
