Anybody know where I can buy a blue star leopard pair, and a Chaoti wrasse? They are so hard for me to track down, wondering if anybody knows where I can get them, preferably from a reputable vendor! Thanks

+1 to staying away from a choati, very difficult to keep. As for pairs of any fish LA has them hit and miss on what is sold and when as a pair or NYA has pairs of some fish but never seen the pair you speak of. Sounds like you will need to purchase 4 or 5 and house in aeggcrated bucket and see which show the least aggression toward one another then the other 2-3 would need to be sold. This is a costly method but the only way to have a "pair" without possibly waiting forever on the to pop up for sale. The method I mention has been done with large angels to find pairs in reefs. Not sure what the article was called but it can be found by searching on here

My bad guys....the leopard wrasse pair that I was speaking of would commonly be known as a bipartitus wrasse! I first knew it as a blue star leopard wrasse, lol, so thats what Ive always called it! And by pair I just meant both a male and a female, not necessarily a mated pair. Live Aquaria has them listed, but they are hardly ever in stock! Just trying to see if anybody had the secret connect! Lol.....thanks again!

Really exited. I just received a pair today. Male and female Blue Star Leopard wrasses (not a mated pair) from the collectors corner at Live Aquaria. Gave them a long drip acclimation(2 hours) and into the DT. So far the female has been doing really well with my existing Leopard female hanging with her and deflecting some of the attention from my Tangs.;) She already ate and looks perfectly healthy. The male looked better during acclimation but dove for the sand once in the tank. He looked a bit beat up from the shipping but was quite active during the drip. Fingers crossed he make it as these guys are very delicate to start with. Good luck finding these guys they are worth the effort. Grant

Thats great Grant! Were you actively searching for them, or did you just happen to stumble across them on LA?! I'm probably just going to have to start checking everyday to see if I can luck up on a pair! Hope they do well for you!

I've wanted them for a long time and finally got serious about the search. The hardest part was finding the male. I just hope the male will eat like the female and they are accepted in my reef by the rest of the herd. Thanks for your thoughts.

Bluezoo almost always has females, if you start with females you'll get to see one change to male in time. Usually cheaper to just start with females too and IME the females ship and acclimate a little better.
