Wrasse scenario

I purchased a pair of lineatus wrasses and QT them for 8-10 weeks. Upon putting them in the display tank, the male died a week or 2 later. It's been a few weeks since that happened. Can I purchase a new terminal male and then QT him for 8 weeks and then add him back to the female remaining in the display tank? Does anyone see any problems?

May also purchase a female rhomboid wrasse to put in QT and add to DT after 8 weeks too.
Thoughts?

I had a 3-3/4'' female lineatus in my tank for almost a year. I added a 4.5'' male lineatus and everything went real smoothly. The female was queen of the tank and I was a little worried but she was never aggressive to the new male

That could be a dangerous proposition if your female has begun the transition to male. The terminal male disappearing is a natural trigger for such.

You're much safer to add a female(s) if you want more lineatus. Let them decide who the terminal male shall be.

Good info, I agree.
