Would a Blue Star Leopard be ok with a Cocos Island Lemonpeel? The Cocopeel is not exactly what I would say aggressive, but it is very interested in what every fish in the tank is doing. I guess he thinks he's missing out on something to eat..lol. I know the Leopard wrasses are not generally aggressive fish, but I don't know if they tend to be so shy that would be bothered to death by the coco. Would I be better off looking at a Melanurus, which I know may or may not cause problems with my CUC? Also, I don't have any corals or clams that would be bothered by the Melanurus.
Thanks!

Put a few of the blue star in at once and it should be fine ...stay away from the melanurus

My dwarf angels completely ignore my leopard Wrasses, even at first introduction. I use an acclimation box, which may help as well. And I don't see a problem getting a Melanurus, as long as the tank is big enough. They are reef safe, and good for pest control.

Leopard wrasse are not the easiest wrasse to care for... not sure if you're aware of that or not?

Yes, I know they can be tricky..that's why I was concerned by the angel..nosiest fish I have ever had. I don't want to get something that will be stressed out by Inspector Coco..lol Thanks for the input!

I have a blue star leopard wrasse with a flame angel, been with each other for 2 years. No problems whatsoever. Make sure it is eating at the store, they are very difficult to get to eat. How big is your tank? Mine are in a 180 gallon. That might have something to do with it. Leopard wrasses will eat your pods, and spend most of their time picking at the rocks.

It's a 75g with 15g sump. I am loaded with pods, and I have a refugium for replenishment. Both of the two I listed are beautiful fish (well, most wrasses are beauties), but I do suppose the melanurus is hardier. Interesting, the differing opinions on the mel', some people say never a problem with CUC, others say CUC disappeared pretty quickly.

I really appreciate everyone's input. I tend to over analyze these things, not wanting to make a mistake...lol

I have heard lots of stories about the melanurus wrasse eating the CUC, and that they are sometimes/sometimes not reef safe. Imo, if there was an eating leopard wrasse at the store id go for it, id say best not to risk it if you have a big cuc.

I have had a melanurus and an adorned wrasse and in my experience they only went for dying or flipped over snails. Healthy snails and crabs have been left alone.

I have a blue star Leopard that holds up pretty well to the aggression of a territorial Flame Angel. The key with any Leopard wrasse is getting it to eat. I have only had mine about 5 months but have found it very resilient to bullying when it's well fed. I started with LRS and now it eats flake and pellet
