Hi everyone,
On Friday I received a wrasse that I acclimated using an acclimation box. when I released it, I noticed that it's head wasn't "smooth", but assumed that it was naturally that way as the smaller companion wrasse it came with had a smooth head. They both went into hiding, with the smaller wrasse coming out to the open within minutes of release. I did not see the larger wrasse until the next day when I noticed that the bump had grown to what you see in the picture below. The wrasse still hides for the most part and is not eating as much as the others. I do have other wrasses and fish in the tank, but the aggression has been minimal. The bump looks internal, so my thoughts is that it hit itself against the container when it was captured for shipping or it hit itself against a rock when I released it and I just didn't notice? The inflammation has not gotten any worse than what you see, but it has not gone down either. Any ideas? Thanks for your time.
