I added a melanarus wrasse to my tank last night and it still hasn't came out. Should I be concerned or do they typically hide this long? Any advise? I know they bury themselves so I moved the rocks some to make sure it wasn't stuck and still no Luck

1-7 days is normal. It all depends on the fish. You may not even see it after 7 days as it come out when you are not around. Now, if you don't see it in 2 weeks you have a dead fish probably.

I'm not sure how much you know or your experience in this hobby but before you buy any fish do some research. I just type in google whatever fish I'm looking at while in the store and usually get live aquatias website for the description. It's not a bad place to start.

I didnt see my twin spot wrasse for almost two weeks. I started coming down and looking in the tank before work, about 4-430 am. I noticed him out and about then. I was feeding him at that time for a couple weeks and then one day he decided to come out during the day and be part of the group. Hes out everyday at normal times now .

He's not out swimming but the powerhead partially exposed his hidy hole. He looks ok and I'm not going to disturb him.

This is about my 10th tank but for some reason, I've never had anything but a 6 line wrasse. Man was I missing the boat. Thanks for the advise.

If you don't have a screen top it won't make it long. It is a prerequisite of having wrasse. They are all jumpers.
