I am Phu's brother in law (not sure if that's good or bad) but I am looking for a 20 Long to replace my current sump, it has cracked and needs replacing. Anybody got one for sell?

what dimensions are they. I have a couple of tanks in the basement that I need to get rid of. Instead of drilling my sump I drilled the glass tops for all of my plumbing and such.

OHHHh, Sorry to tell ya, you can't get ANY tank under there. Unless you drop it in from the top before the tank goes on. I thought you already had it filled? I tried to wedge a 20 long in but it just wouldn't go with the center brace. A 10 gallon or the tidepool is all that I could have fit under from the front door side. If you took the door off you may be able to get an extra dab to work with but I think it was a pretty far off shot of getting a 20 long in there. A 20 tall might work but then you are limited to baffel placement because the shorter tank.

I put a 20 long in before putting the tank on the stand and after getting the rock and water in realized that the tank for the sump was cracked. Huy and I thought really hard about how we could get it out and decided that we couldn't. Then Phu was drunk one night and said, hey the center brace if off centered to the left, did you try to get the 20 long out that way. We kind of said uhhhh no, we didn't try that. Of course it came right out to the left side, so I can replace it, just have to find one now. Takes a drunk to tell you how to get it to work.

Boy, I keep hearing more and more about the drunk Huy's and Phu's of the world:D...

They can be drilled, but it's not really necessary unless you are running an external pump (then it's still not necessary, but helps). My 20L QT is drilled (via doodoobrown), but it has an overflow. I did what I think APfish was talking about. I used plexi to make a cover for where the water enters the sump (drilled and tapped holes in the plexi and the frame to lock it in place with nylon thumb screws), then used a hole saw to drill out spots for the pipes to go through. I used some oversized fittings with reducing bushings to make it all fit firmly in place (a little silicone won't hurt, either).

Are you jokeing? I pushed and worked for about a hour trying to get a 20 long under there. Come to think of it I was only using the right side opening the way the tank was sitting. I never noticed the center brace was not in the center! Glad its gonna work!

Actually GFlatt I had several of the glass tank tops and drilled three wholes in one. Who is da pimp? Anyway from there on out that is exactly what I did. The plumbing has to go up and the fewer bends the better for velocity. Anyway, I like, doodoobrown do not guaranty anything on glass works. I have the diamond bits and drill and can tell you what worked for me. Did I tell you about the three 55's that I broke in one day trying to see if I could drill them? Too much beer. It is kind of like when I used to throw darts. To keep on my game, I would limit myself to three beers and then one an hour there after. I get too relaxed.
