WTB 90 Gallon Glass

I have a 75G acrylic and I can't stand the scratches and cleaning it. I need glass.

Perfect tank would be with an external overflow or non-tempered so I could drill it. I would consider internal overflows if it is on the back, not corners.

Would you be interested in a Oceanic Tech 90g with the center overflow removed and drilled in the back. No stand. Tank was up and running for 6+ years like this, so no worries about the covered holes on the bottom. To be on the safe side I would reseal it with clear silicone again tho.

Dimensions are 48" L x 18.5" W x 24" H

With the holes you had drilled how was it set up to drain? I wan to install an overflow box. Was it set up that way? If so what type?

This was a friend's old tank. Due to the euro brace you won't be able to use a overflow box. The two outter holes were used as drains. The two inner holes were the returns.

You could add internal overflow boxes at both ends. I believe Tech tanks were low iron glass and thicker glass than regular 90G, no center brace even on the 120G.

With this set up there is no surface skimming? If not, I am going to have to keep on looking.

Are most reef ready tanks non-tempered so you can drill them if you remove the overflow box? If so I'd consider any non-tempered glass tank and just remove the internal overflow box.

Why wouldn't this work with a Euro Brace design?

Reef Ready tanks from the big names might all have tempered bottom for strength but the other glass pieces are not tempered.

Perhaps he refers to hang-on-back overflow boxes but the one you point at on the link will do fine for the tank.

Yeah I was referring to the hang on the back type of overflow boxes. Really well built with 1/2" thick glass.

After almost picking up a 90G I realized my canopy is only 48.25" and the stand 48.5". These were designed for my current plexi tank that is exactly 48. Most glass tanks have a rim that puts them at 48.5+. So I guess I need a Eurobraced 90... let me know if there is one out there.

Otherwise I'll just have to wait till I can get into the full upgrade of a 180.
