I really need two bags but would love to get a few more. Please do not suggest some other alternative because I don't like the way most of that looks.

If you have the product Southdown or Yardright Tropical PlaySand for sale, let me know.

Thanks!
Mike

Not to hijack your thread, but has anyone considered just going to the source and ordering a pallet direclty? I don't mean HD I mean like Oldcastle or Yardright.

Google these three words, not necessarily together and you'll find that you are closer than you expected to the MOTHERLOAD of Southdown play sand: Marcona Ocean Industries, Aragonite, Ft Pierce. I am going to visit a subsidiary of Marcona some time soon, as there is a yard close to me in Pensacola that allegedly has aragonite rocks for sale, (dry rock mind you). Don't waste your time with Yardright, Southdown and Old Castle. From what I have researched, they don't exsist anymore. NOW, there are some bags floating around out there, but apparently Old Castle does't package this product anymore.

The above is what I have researched and read online, excluding talking to the yard in Pensacola. I'm not saying it's a fact, I am saying that it is what I have read.

Yeah, YardRight no longer gets the stuff. Per the rep at YardRight, the island that they were getting it from started another business and is not interested in supplying it anymore.

Thanks!

Hey Mike,
I had bought like 7 bags back about a year ago its really nice sand the only problem I noticed with it was that it would blow around in the tank if you had a lot of water flow. I bought some of the step one pavers sand from lowes. basically argonite sand just a littel bigger grains than the south down. Very white looks good and does not blow around. Very nice cause particals will not settle on caps or any flat surfaces. Just my 2 cents.

In fact I have 2 buckets of the sand already seeded that I had in a 75 gal if anyone wants it let me know. just bring a couple of buckets. I am having an open house this weekend so I will be home if you want to pick it up.

Here is a not so good pic of the 75 I had setup with the sand.
