I ended up getting mine from the Diver's Den section of LA. What type of carpet are you looking for?

Here is an older picture of mine.

Heteractis magnifica, aka --- ritteri anemone isn't usually referred to as a carpet.

I don't know if I have ever seen a green or blue one. Hard enough to find a healthy average colored one let alone those colors.

The common "carpet anemones" are;
S. gigantea
S. haddoni and
S. mertensii

Ahh okay.

The last local gigantea I saw was at Living Sea (( Park Ridge )) about 6 + months ago. And around that same time Diver's Den of Live Aquaria had a bunch. I could be wrong, but there almost seems to be a "season" for them, there was quite a few on DD for about a week. Haven't seen any since then.

They are harder to keep, and hard to find a healthy one, they don't seem to ship all that well.

I know I purchased one online a blue one and it came to me in 50 degree water and just about dead. I could not revive it and it died a day later 195.00 dollars down the drain

Ouch, that sucks, sorry about that.

That is the main reason I only order livestock from LA, 14 day guarantee.

In fact I got an LTA from them two weekends ago ( when it was super cold ) and the water was darn near the same type as my tank water.

Hmm - this 14 day guarantee - LA - do you mean Live Aquaria?

Yea, sorry. LA = Liva Aquaria and the 14 day guarantee applies to everything there. There was one on my blue Haddoni.

NOT TO MENTION A LIFE!!!

Come now people... leave it in the ocean if there is a track record of poor success. We have a duty to be responsible hobbyists!! And, there are so many beautiful animals that have better track records in aquaria.

We all make mistakes, but lets try to learn from them.

Best,
Angela
