Wtb kessil a150 ocean blue

Sorry man but honestly your probably better off going a different rout anyways. If I was you(starting a 40b on a budget) I would get a 4-6 bulb 24" t5 horticulture fixture off amazon for like $100 and put a kessil a80 in the middle to add some shimmer and control ability.

A bigger tank and going all T5

Good call. Only thing I don't like about t5's is the lack of shimmer.

The ati hybrids are really nice. Otherwise the reef brite strips integrate reasonably well. If you want shimmer you'll need a daylight, or 50/50 strip at a minimum. The all blues don't provide much shimmer from what I've read.

I have one kessil on the tank with the t5's and half the tank looks amazing. Eventually I'll get a 8 or even 10 bulb t5 fixture and pull two center bulbs and mount two kessils in it. Just need to pick up one more kessil 150 or 160

Yeah I actually got a T5 fixture that has those led T5 tubes and I plan on using two of them in my 6 bulb setup over the 57 gallon
