WTB Mrs. Wages locally (Berkeley area)?

I'll need just one bag of pickling lime, that should last me a year or so Anyone know where I might look locally? I don't know of any nearby cannery, but maybe someone else knows.

Go find a Mexican grocery store. They typically carry a product called "Cal" used for making corn tortilla. Cal is Spanish for lime and is the same thing as Mrs Wages.

every mexican grocer that I have been to has it; it is most time with the seasonings, and it comes in a small package for something like .79 cents - it will be enough to get you through until your shipment comes in; bet try AMAZON.com they carry mrs.wages and I think you get free shipping if you order more at least $25 dollors worth.

I can get cal from mexican market for you - I live in the city but am in Oakland each weekday. lmk

Probably can find cal on International Blvd in Oakland.

Could check with the Walmart in San Leandro too.

We need to

1) Sticky a thread that explains where to get pickling lime locally
2) Have the club buy a big bag of Cal and sell it to club members for $1 at the next meeting.

I bought Mrs. Wages online, I had to buy 3 or 4 bags to make it worth the shipping and I'm still using it 2 years later (extra is sealed in a plastic bag).
