I seem to remember someone doing a bulk order of these awhile back and I was wondering if they had some extras. Does anyone remember this or have a decently priced one for sale?
I was looking for them on the net....they go from $12 to $800. I don't like to buy junk, but cant afford cavier so what's a good, dependable and affordable (< $100) refractometer? John at Your Reef took care of me today so I'm leaning towards going back and picking up one of his...but I'm still interested in opinions.
I have used two "cheap" refractometers. The first one was purchased from Dr. Foster Smith and the second was through the group buy. I prefer the Dr. Foster Smtih one because the reading is easier to read. But the group buy one was nice as well. Here's the link to the DFS's refractometer:

For $40 I recommend the DF&S refractometer. I have it and use it, although I was the one to recommend calibrating at 35ppt, rather than at 0ppt (RO/DI water) as the ATC (auto temperature correcting) spring in the cheaper refractometers are less accurate the further from the calibrated point.
